Smart National Spelling Bee is an academic initiative organised by the Bright Educational and Charitable Trust (BECT), headquartered in Ernakulam, Kerala. It provides a structured platform to enhance English language skills through a progressive and competitive learning system.

In this oral round, participants are required to spell words accurately from a predetermined list. Each word is clearly pronounced by the pronouncer, and the participant must spell it correctly. The round follows a “miss-and-out” format. Participants will be eliminated upon an incorrect spelling from the eighth word onward.
This is a time-bound, pronunciation-based round. Participants are presented with phonetic symbols through a slide presentation displayed using an audiovisual system by the examiner. They must identify the word, spell it correctly, and state its meaning within the allotted time.. This round enhances vocabulary, pronunciation skills, and understanding of phonetic symbols.
• Students prepare using specially curated study materials, worksheets, and reference books developed by our academic and content team.
• A nominal fee is charged for study materials and preparatory resources at different competition levels.
